Two sides have hand cut measurement marks and the other two sides are blank. The two ends have solid brass plates. This French fabric or leather ruler measures 39 and one half inches long by 3 and one eighth by 3 and one eighth inches thick. This piece was made from one solid piece of French Walnut. Antique cherry and brass mortar and pestle Antique mortar and pestle,this period antique "mortar and pestle" is made from solid cherry and held with solid brass rings.It is unusual to have the two original mortar and pestle pieces together. This mortar and pestle is American dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. The mortar measures 7 and 3/4 inches high and 5 and 1/2 inches wide. The pestle measures 9 and 1/2 inches long. This mortar and pestle are in original condition. There are some age cracks which were caused by the wood seasoning over two hundred years which all true antique examples have.This set has a wonderful deep rich patina....SOLD....
