American State House Windsor chair 1790 Hartford CT State House Windsor Arm chair. This Windsor saddle seat arm chair is called a State House Windsor because there were many of them in that were made for that State of Connecticut building. They are just a little smaller than the typical Windsor arm Chair. Great turnings with comb back. this period American arm chair measures 18 and one quarter inches to the top of the middle of its seat,28 inches to the top of its arms and 39 inches to the top of its back. Excellent condition with old finish. There are support rods on both arms. C1770 to 1790.
