Vintage writing desk with two drop leaves, each 13 and one half inches.l This American Sheraton style desk is made from mahogany and has a demi lune shape. It measures 60 and one half inches wide by 27 to 40 inches deep and 32 and one half inches high. There is a large center drawer and two drawer compartments that swing out to hold the two drop leaves. The table measures 28 and one quarter inches high, 38 inches wide with leaves down, and 28 inches deep. The two leaves each measure 11 and one half inches. When the leaves are up the table measures 60 inches wide. Old rich original finish with some use marks which are expected on a period table. The entire desk was made from beautiful solid mahogany. The gadrooned edge is hand cut not applied. The four legs have carved knees ending in well executed carved ball and claw feet. Jens Risom Modern design office desk in teak c1960. This flat top desk was made from solid teak and teak veneers and is finished on both sides so it could be used in the middle of a room. Measures 72 inches long by 36 inches deep and 30 inches high. Original finish with some surface use marks. "Jens Risom’s career has spanned nearly sixty years. He began his study of design in the Copenhagen workshop of Kaare Klint in 1935 and joined Ernst Kuhn’s architectural office in 1938, where he designed furniture and interiors. In 1939, Risom emigrated to the U.S. and in 1941 designed the first chair manufactured by Knoll. Risom continued to create simple, well-crafted modern furniture with Knoll and George Jensen, but established his own design studio, Jens Risom Design, in 1946. This antique English Grandfathers clock is all original including its movement and banded inlaid case. Measures 89 inches tall,20 inches wide at the bonnet, 14 and one half inches at the case, 18 and one half inches wide at the base, and 10 inches deep. The dial is inscribed Tempus Fugite PA. WATT. Strikes on the quarter, half and hour. Eight day. The sailboat in the top of the movement rocks back and forth as the clock ticks. We just had this clock cleaned so it runs well. The condition of the case is quite good. There is one brass rosette missing from one of the top arches. Shipping extra. This period Federal furniture desk is the perfect size, measuring 36 inches wide by 19 and one half inches deep, 32 inches to the writing surface and 40 inches to the top of the back splash. The top back splash and the single drawer are put together with large hand cut dovetails. There are two old cracks in the top wide board which is typical of writing desks from this period. This antique desk or side chair is quite comfortable and strong. There are some wear marks on the back side of the leg that prove its age.
