The Thompson Trophy Air Race 1930 1937
This presentation folio was written by Fred Witt in 1937 and published by Thompson Porducts.In is signed inside #33 for L S Hobbs. We believe this to have belonged to the L S Hobbs of Amarillo, Potter County, Tex. Republican. Delegate to Republican National Convention from Texas, 1940 who was still living as of 1940. It lists the winners of the previous races back to 1930, the planes they flew, average speeds and a colored removable photo lithograph of each plane. This is rare piece of American aviation history and memorabilia. Measures 14 inche by 9 and three quarters inches. The sign above states that the car is only $595 and it has a starter and lights, Duco Finish, Demountable Rims and is a 5 Passenger Sedan. The frame measures 22 and three quarters inches by 20 inches and the photograph measures 19 and one half inches by 15 and one quarter inches. Very good condition without any fading or blemishes. It was hard to photograph this photograph because of the glass reflection which makes areas of the photo look washed out. It is a very strong print with crisp detail. Shipping extra.
