Very large Famille Rose Chinese export porcelain charger c1850 to 1860. Extraordinary detail, superbly painted. This is one of the finest pieces of antique Famille Rose Medallion that we have ever offered. The charger is 19 inches across by 3 and one quarter inches high. Each of its 6 medallions is framed by dragons and bats carrying scrolls. Three are scenes of court ladies at leisure. Three are studies of birds and butterflies amid branches of peonies and fruits, including citrus, persimmons and pomegranites. The center roundel features a giant fungus. There is a faint old star fracture at center underside, probably incurred at firing. Strong ring tone when tapped. No chips. Shipping extra. Ming dynasty Fahua ceramic Persian market vase c1475 to 1500
This Fahua vase measures 12 and three quarter inches high and 7 and one half inches at the widest part. The "fahua" style of ceramics was produced in China from the 14th to the 16th centuries. It may well have been intended as a less expensive substitute for cloisonné enamels.. The origin of the term "fahua" is uncertain but it may mean "Buddhist decoration" and derive from the fact that these wares were very often used in Buddhist temples.The Ming dynasty was from c1475 to 1500. This vase has been drilled for use as a lamp. No cracks, chips or repairs. Chinese porcelain vase stand in carved wood c1800. This Chinese wood vase stand measures 6 and one half inches high and six inches across. The inside where a large vase wood sit measures 5 and one quarters inches. There are three original cut outs for feet that are spaced 4 inches across center to center. This stand could be used for either a footed vase or sculpture or a round flat bottom vase. At one time some one drilled a hole straight through the center and across the base so the base could support an electric cord when it was used for a lamp base. ...SOLD....
