| Early 19th century American loom woven bed coverlet circa 1800 to 1820. Woven on a hand loom by an itinerant weaver. These men traveled by wagon with their looms from town to town. They wove coverlets to order in the housewife's choice of pattern, size, and color. This is a wool and linen reversible "summer winter" coverlet. The deep blue is natural indigo dye.
